Zakura, a cryptography startup building on Zcash's privacy infrastructure, has quietly cracked one of the most stubborn UX problems in private crypto: the agonizing wait before a shielded transaction actually sends. Their new cryptography stack cuts mobile proof generation time from roughly three seconds down to under 200 milliseconds, a speed improvement of more than 14 times.

To put that in context, you now wait longer to send a regular bank Zelle payment than you will to fire off a fully private ZEC transaction on a phone.

Why This Actually Matters

For years, privacy coins have carried an invisible tax: friction. Bitcoin transactions feel instant. Ethereum swaps feel instant. But shielded Zcash sends? You tapped the button and then you waited.
