XRP Just Had One of Its Best Wallet Days of 2025, So Why Are US Buyers Quietly Leaving?
XRP logged one of its strongest days for new wallet creation all year, and yet the price is sitting 16% lower than it was a month ago. That gap between adoption signals and price action is exactly the kind of setup that shakes out weak hands before a real move.
The Wallet Numbers Are Flashing Something
New XRP wallet openings spiked in a way that has only happened a handful of times in 2025. Historically, wallet growth precedes price momentum, not the other way around. New addresses mean new participants entering the ecosystem, setting up positions, and waiting. The question is what they are waiting for.
But here is where it gets complicated.
US Buyers Are Pulling Back Hard
While global wallet activity is climbing, American buyers on Coinbase are retreating. Spot ETF inflows, which were briefly a tailwind for XRP after the product launched, are also cooling. That is a significant signal. US institutional and retail money moving in the same direction, away from XRP, creates real ceiling pressure regardless of what the on-chain data says.
XRP is currently trading near $1.25. That level is not arbitrary. It sits just above a cluster of support that, if it breaks, opens the door to a faster slide toward the $1.00 psychological floor.
The Binance Hack Made Everything Worse
The record-breaking Binance hack last week did not help. Market-wide sentiment took a hit, and XRP, already under pressure, absorbed some of that fear. When trust in centralized infrastructure wobbles, speculative altcoins feel it first and fastest.
The result is a market in a standoff. On-chain growth says accumulation. US money flows say distribution. One of these signals is wrong.
What Traders Should Actually Watch
Three things matter here over the next two weeks.
First, watch whether Coinbase buy pressure returns. If US buyers come back to XRP while wallet growth continues, the relief rally becomes very real, very fast. Second, track ETF flows daily. A single strong inflow week could shift the narrative entirely. Third, monitor that $1.25 support level. A clean hold with volume would be the first technical confirmation that the selloff is exhausting itself.
XRP has the on-chain story. It is missing the capital story. Until those two align, the trade is watching, not chasing.
If you missed the last XRP breakout by not reading the wallet data early enough, this is the moment the data is giving you a second look.
