XRP Fell 5% Last Week While Every Major Crypto Around It Climbed

While Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana were posting gains in last week's broad crypto bounce, XRP moved in the opposite direction, quietly shedding 5% and raising a question that XRP holders can no longer ignore: is something structurally broken here?

The timing is what makes this ugly. Crypto sentiment has been recovering. Institutional money is clearly still moving, with XRP-linked ETFs continuing to pull in investor capital even as the token itself underperforms. That disconnect between ETF inflows and actual price action is the real story, and most people are glossing over it.

ETF Money Is Coming In, But It's Not Moving the Price

Normally, sustained ETF inflows are a bullish signal. Fresh capital entering a product tied to an asset tends to create buying pressure or at least signal confidence from larger players. With XRP, that relationship appears to be breaking down, at least in the short term.

When an asset drops 5% in a week where its ETF wrapper is still attracting money, one of two things is happening. Either the selling pressure from elsewhere is overwhelming the inflow signal, or the market is simply repositioning capital into assets with stronger near-term momentum, namely BTC, ETH and SOL.

Right now, XRP is losing that rotation battle badly.

The Bounce Nobody Invited XRP To

Last week's recovery across major crypto assets was broad enough that sitting it out is a meaningful red flag for XRP. BTC climbed. ETH climbed. SOL climbed. These three have very different narratives, different buyer bases and different on-chain dynamics. The fact that all three moved up while XRP moved down suggests this is not a macro story. This is XRP-specific weakness.

That could be profit-taking from earlier in the cycle when XRP outperformed. It could be traders rotating into assets with cleaner momentum. It could be uncertainty around how XRP's regulatory clarity, long considered a catalyst, actually translates into sustained demand now that much of that news is already priced in.

Whatever the cause, the price is telling a clear story right now.

What Traders Should Watch

Holders and those eyeing an entry need to watch two things closely. First, whether ETF inflows continue to grow or start to flatten, because sustained outflows from the ETF products would confirm broader institutional disinterest. Second, whether XRP can reclaim relative strength against ETH and SOL in the coming week.

If the broader market continues to climb and XRP keeps lagging, this stops being a one-week anomaly and starts becoming a trend that demands a harder look at your allocation.

The bounce happened. XRP missed it. The next move will tell you everything.
