One company now controls 4% of every bitcoin that will ever exist — and it just bought more.

Strategy added 950 bitcoin for approximately $76 million this week, pushing its total holdings to 846,000 BTC. At current prices, that stack is worth roughly $72 billion. To put that in perspective: Bitcoin's supply is capped at 21 million coins, forever. Strategy owns 4% of that cap right now, today, and it is not slowing down.

Michael Saylor framed the purchase the way he always does, calling it 'a little more orange,' the kind of casual confidence that only comes from someone who has been right so many times that buying $76 million of bitcoin feels like picking up groceries. But behind the calm tone is a strategy with staggering implications for every other market participant.

The supply math is starting to get uncomfortable.

Bitcoin's fixed supply is its entire value proposition. Every coin Strategy locks away is one fewer coin available to the market. With institutional demand accelerating through spot ETFs, sovereign wealth funds circling, and corporations quietly building treasury positions, the liquid float of bitcoin is shrinking faster than most traders realize. Strategy is not just buying bitcoin. It is removing bitcoin from circulation at industrial scale.

Consider what 846,000 BTC represents beyond the dollar figure. It is more bitcoin than the United States government holds. It is more than any ETF issuer currently holds. It is a position so large that if Strategy ever stopped accumulating, the market would notice immediately, and if it ever started selling, the market would crater. That creates a fascinating two-sided dynamic: the continued buying is a price floor signal, but the concentration itself is a risk few people are pricing in.

Saylor has also made no secret of his playbook. Strategy raises capital through equity and convertible notes, deploys it into bitcoin, watches its stock price track BTC's upside, then raises more capital at a premium. The machine keeps running as long as bitcoin goes up and credit markets stay open. Both conditions currently hold.

What crypto holders should watch right now:

Track Strategy's stock price relative to its bitcoin net asset value. When MSTR trades at a significant premium to its BTC holdings, the market is pricing in continued accumulation and confidence in Saylor's model. When that premium compresses, it is one of the earliest signals that institutional conviction is wavering. Right now, the premium is healthy, which means the market believes this buying is nowhere near finished.

The real question is not whether Strategy will keep buying. It is who else is about to start.
