4.3 Million Wallets Now Hold Tokenized Stocks, and BNB Chain Is Running the Table
Tokenized stocks have quietly accumulated 4.3 million holders across blockchain networks, according to Token Terminal's latest data, and the chain rankings are not what most people predicted.
BNB Chain leads the pack by a country mile. Robinhood Chain sits in second place with 1.3 million holders. Solana, the darling of retail crypto in 2024, comes in third at 997,000. That ordering should raise eyebrows across every corner of Crypto Twitter.
Why Robinhood Chain's Position Matters More Than the Total Number
Robinhood only launched its Layer 2 chain recently, and it has already outpaced Solana in tokenized equity holders. That is not a coincidence. Robinhood has 24 million funded accounts sitting in its traditional brokerage. The conversion funnel from stock trader to on-chain tokenized stock holder is shorter on Robinhood's own chain than anywhere else. If even a fraction of those legacy users migrate, the 1.3 million figure looks like a starting line, not a ceiling.
BNB Chain's dominance reflects something different: a global retail base, particularly across Southeast Asia and emerging markets, where users cannot easily access US equities through traditional brokers. Tokenized stocks are not a novelty for these users. For many, they are the only accessible path to Apple, Tesla, or Nvidia exposure.
The Number That Needs a Footnote
Token Terminal is measuring token balances, not distinct investors. One wallet, one holder count. A single institution spreading positions across multiple wallets inflates the metric. A user with three wallets counts three times. The 4.3 million figure is directionally meaningful but not a clean headcount of actual people.
That caveat aside, the trajectory is real. Tokenized real-world assets have been the most consistent growth narrative in crypto over the past 18 months, and equities are now joining treasuries and money market funds as a core product category on-chain.
What Crypto Holders Should Watch Right Now
Three things deserve attention in the coming weeks. First, whether Solana closes the gap with Robinhood Chain as more tokenized equity platforms launch natively on the network. Second, how traditional brokerages respond to Robinhood's early-mover advantage in this space. A competitor launching their own chain or partnering with an existing L2 to offer tokenized stocks would accelerate the entire category. Third, watch regulatory signals out of the SEC. Tokenized stocks walk a complicated line, and any enforcement action or formal guidance could reprice the opportunity overnight.
The real-world asset race is no longer theoretical. It has 4.3 million data points that say otherwise.
